Maged M. Dessouky, Ph.D.
Maged M. Dessouky, Ph.D., is an Associate Professor of Industrial and
Systems Engineering at
the University of Southern California. Dr. Dessouky has an in-depth
theoretical and practical understanding of models and heuristic methods for
transportation system optimization. He is currently an investigator on many
transportation-related projects, including a National Science Foundation
funded project that focuses on developing real-time scheduling methods for
demand responsive transportation systems. He has also published
extensively in this field. He is the Area Editor of Planning and
Scheduling for the International Journal of Computers & Industrial
Engineering.
Dr. Dessouky is also a prolific teacher. He won the USC Associates Award
for Excellence in Teaching in 2000,
the top University Award for teaching. He holds a Ph.D. in Industrial
Engineering and Operations Research from the University of California at
Berkeley, and a M.S. and B.S. Degrees in Industrial Engineering from Purdue
University.
